Solid oak flooring
Unlike composite parquet, solid parquet is made from completely solid wood. The planks give a traditional look and create a pleasant atmosphere in your home. At Belat you, the customer, have a choice of different widths, thicknesses and grades which allows Belat parquet to offer a solution for any type of interior.
A rural interior is usually combined with a more rustic sorting with more color differences and larger knots. Tighter spaces are finished with a select, 1bis or premium grading.
Solid wood floors are more sensitive to fluctuations in relative humidity and temperature differences. Solid parquet will always want to expand and contract so constant humidity is very important. The wood will shrink in a dry climate and visa versa in a humid climate.
With Belat parquet, for the sake of stability, it is advisable to glue a solid parquet when installed in large rooms. In smaller rooms, it can be laid perfectly floating. If in doubt, it is best to contact Belat parquet to discuss your options.
You can enjoy a solid oak parquet floor for a lifetime because of its excellent durability. It is recommended to sand and treat the floor every 10 to 15 years. This way you will always have a new parquet floor for a fraction of the price.
Solid oak floor on underfloor heating
Solid parquet is not recommended on underfloor heating. The extreme differences in temperature have a negative impact on the functioning of the wood. On underfloor heating, a composite parquet is exceptionally used. This type of parquet floor is extremely stable because of its unique construction.
Advantages
