Slat on side parquet

Slat on side parquet or sometimes called high-sided parquet is a parquet floor that consists of mats of a number of lamellas bound together in solid oak. These slats come in various sizes and thicknesses. Slat on edge is a very stable and extremely strong floor with a long lifespan. This type of parquet used to be often installed in public areas and even factories!
Nowadays, this parquet is very popular with architects. The unique and striking appearance of lamella on lace gives a specific character to your living space. These floors are perfect as project floors, but also as design floors in any home.

Edged slats on underfloor heating

Lamel op kant is excellent for laying on a screed with underfloor heating. A few things to take into account when installing lamel on lace parquet on underfloor heating:
Keep in mind the thickness of your slats. A thinner high-edge parquet will always conduct its heat better than a very thick one.
The screed applied over the heating pipes must be at least 30mm thick.
The residual moisture in the screed should still be a maximum of 2% for cementitious screeds and 0.3% for anhydrite-based subfloors when installed.
Temperature fluctuations should be kept to a minimum. Try to ensure constant day and night settings of your thermostat.

Maintaining parquet on edge

As with any parquet floor, it is still important to keep an eye on humidity. Make sure that your air does not become too dry in your home or your parquet will be prone to splits or cracks. Relative humidity should be kept between 45% and 60%.
