Herringbone parquet solid

A herringbone parquet is very recognizable by its typical laying pattern that dates back to the time of castles and monasteries. It exudes authenticity and to this day is still extremely stylish in all kinds of interiors. The unique method of installation requires a lot of preparation and concentration from the installer. Each lath is installed separately and must fit perfectly to create the most beautiful whole.

At Belat, you can choose from a variety of thicknesses, widths and lengths. Underfloor heating or other technical details are also taken into account. All planks have a tongue and groove joint for smooth installation.

Installing a solid herringbone floor

Installing a herringbone floor is fairly labor intensive and requires a lot of planning and concentration on the part of the installer. This is also the main reason why installing a herringbone parquet is usually better left to professional flooring installers.

The layout of the first strip must be well planned. It should be perpendicular to the wall. Let the first strip dry out well and then proceed with the installation. This will ensure that the installed slats cannot move again.

After installation, the herringbone parquet must be sanded. You do this with a woodboy in 3 steps: first with grain 40, then with grain 80 and finally with grain 120. After sanding, it is time to oil or varnish the herringbone parquet.
