Checkerboard mosaic oak

Choose the extra rustic checkerboard parquet floor if you want to create an old, country-style look in your home. With its open knots, color variations, and wormholes (no worms), this solid oak checkerboard parquet is the perfect choice for a rustic interior.

Extra rustic: Prominent knots, cracks allowed. Knots of unlimited size. Significant color variations, sapwood allowed.

Rustic: Fewer knots; knots and cracks are filled in at least 80%. Sapwood is allowed.

Select: A relatively uniform grade with few end knots creates a relaxed atmosphere and a calm appearance.

Mosaic parquet is a timeless decorative element. Creating a mosaic on a parquet floor involves drawing regular patterns on the floor by playing with the colors of the same wood and/or the orientation of the planks. While on a classic parquet floor long strips are all aligned in a single line, on a mosaic parquet floor short strips or squares of wood are used to create a repeating pattern across the entire surface.

This untreated solid oak mosaic parquet has been kiln-dried. Cracks, knots, and fallen knots of any size are permitted. These knots and cracks have not been filled. Small remnants of bark may also be present. Planing marks and other defects are possible. Color variations within the plank and between planks are possible. Sapwood on the visible side is permitted.

This oak parquet floor can be finished with either hardwax oil or varnish.
